When it Comes to Comfort and Energy Efficiency, Spray Foam Offers the Best Results
When it comes to insulation, there is nothing on the market quite like spray foam.

Spray foam is going to eliminate the airflow issues that you’ve been experiencing in your house by making the envelope of your home air-tight. This polyurethane foam comes in both open cell and closed cell formats, and is the ideal foam insulation for your attic, crawl space, basement, floorboards, rim joists, and more. This adhesive foam insulation can be applied just about anywhere, making it the fix-all solution for home insulation.

Spray foam is not a material that you're going to have to maintain or put extra money into. Once it's done, it's done. And it's going to last the lifetime of whatever structure you put it in.

If you are looking for spray foam insulation in Denver, Colorado, or the surrounding communities - we can help at Rocky Mountain RetroFoam.

What’s The Difference Between Open Cell and Closed Cell Spray Foam?

OPEN CELL VS CLOSED CELL
Not all foam insulations are alike, but that doesn’t mean one is better than the other. Spray foam insulation comes in both open cell and closed cell. Both options will give you all the great benefits of foam insulation - air-tight seal and good R-value. However, depending on what you’re planning on insulating, one foam may be more suitable than the other.

OPEN CELL SPRAY FOAM

Open cell spray foam is pliable making it easy to work with for future home installations, especially if you’re adding wires, cables, and cords into your walls. Open cell spray foam also has a high expansion rate, making it perfect for filling in those hard to reach areas. It also makes a great sound dampening agent.

CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM

Closed cell is the more ridged of the two foams. Its structure and durability are perfect for areas with exposed walls because it can take a beating if something bumps into it. Closed cell foam has a higher R-value than open cell, but doesn’t expand as much and has less sound dampening capabilities.

Our Spray Foam Installation Process

1

PREP THE PROJECT

The first step, and arguably the most crucial, is ensuring that everything is “walled-off” or covered properly, separating the areas we will be spraying from anything in the home that could potentially get damaged. If you know of specific items you don’t potentially want to get spray foam on, please remove it prior to our installation.

2

SPRAY THE FOAM

While spray foam is completely safe for all occupants of the home, we don't want any people or pets in the home while we spray, due to off-gassing from the product. For optimal safety, we make sure your HVAC system is turned off during the time we are spraying. This way no foam particles or chemicals circulate throughout your home.

3

AFTER THE INSTALL

Upon completion, we will inform you how long your HVAC system should remain off, based upon what our calculations show that you need for proper air exchanges. Once that time has passed, feel free to turn on your HVAC system, return your previously removed possessions back where you had them, and enjoy the comfort of your home.
  • "Wow, what a difference. We used to run two space heaters in the finished basement all winter. It was 1 degree a couple of weeks after install and we didn't need the space heaters! I've seen a huge drop in the electrical and gas bill already! We also did the unheated garage which adds about 15°. The noise-canceling is definitely an added bonus! Wonderful product, great crew, truly appreciate all their hard work."

  • "The product really improved the efficiency, comfort, and quiet of my home. But even more than that, the follow-up and standing behind their products is above & beyond!"
